Its a meaningful quote because it explains why Dana ran away. It shows that Dana is gulty, and sad about leavin gthe people she loved. But wouldn't go back becaus of the hatred she has towards her stepdad. It also shows she has alot of anger stored in her, even thoy she doesn't show it.
Question:
What were your feelings and first impressions after reading the opening chapters of this book? Explain.
Answer:
When I first met Dana in 'Sketches', I was a little unsure if I was going to enjoy being in her mind through the next six weeks. I was thinking she was a little light headed for running away, that was probably because I didn't know that she ran away because of her step dad. But after reading some more my feelings towards her changed, she grew on me since I got to know more about her life.
It was the opposite with Brent, and Ashley. At the beginning I liked them both. I thought that they were good for Dana, and without them she would be screwed. But as I continued to read I thought that they were bad influences on Dana. Brent, once took valuable eating money, and spent it on drugs. Ashley, has tried prostitution. So now I'm not big fans of Ashley, and Brent.
When I was first introduced to Robert Ericseons. I was ex tactic for Dana. I thought this was her chance to get off the streets. I feel like Robert means well. And that as the book continues I feel like he will be more present, and talked about more.
